Amazing experience, definitely worth it An amazing day, the landscape is gorgeous at the end of the dry season, the family has welcomed us with open heart and respect. The floating house is unique with their raised crocodiles and their floating greenhouse. Definitely unique. Kayaking was exceptional, visiting the mangrove and obviously rowing in unexplored land where flowers, fishes and snakes are at home. Wonderful experience Had a very amazing time. The family was so kind and welcoming. The kayaking was safe, clean, and easy. We even got to visit a floating school! Everyone in the village was warm and friendly. It was fascinating to see how this family lives with their caged crocodiles, floating greenhouse and more. PS. Beautiful and fascinating journey into life on the Tonle Sap lake This was a lovely trip and a perfect break after a few days of temples. Kayaking through the watery forest was beautiful and peaceful. The floating village was fascinating and there were hardly any other tourists there. Our guide Sopheap was friendly and helpful. Pick up a l'hôtel. Le guide était très sympa et parlais très bien anglais. Nous avons appris que beaucoup de chose sur la culture et les villages flottants. Lovely kayak tour today learn of local culture What a memorable experience! It was pouring when we were about to kayak but it made it all the more fun - safety precautions were taken and we were in the good hands of our friendly and knowledgeable guide, Vuthy. Beautiful day in the mangrove with Sil! A great day with Sil discovering the floating village and the mangrove by kayak! This floating village is very small and more remote than the other ones which makes it even more special! Crocodiles and good sticky rice with banana as an extra and we even visited the local shop. My Favorite Day in Siem Reap- The Floating Village Kayak Tour Unique indeed. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this experience was the highlight of my time in Siem Reap (sorry Angkor Wat). It was a last minute decision on my part to try and get a bit closer to nature on the last full day I had in the city and I've never regretted it. Traditionally, this company has a 2 person minimum, but as a solo traveler they were gracious enough to allow me to join another group that was going. Bunny is just the absolute best person you could get to guide you on a trip like this. As it was an earlyish start, we stopped on the way at a local village market to have a traditional breakfast. Turned out to be the town that he lives in and everyone knew him and greeted us with such a welcome excitement. Breakfast was a wonderful veggie laden egg/crepe of sorts which included several herbs that I had never had and which he pointed out growing in the wild later on the excursion bringing it full circle. As I am an avid kayaker this trip was exactly what I was looking for. All in all we took 3 modes of transport, a tuk tuk to the lake, a long boat to a dock in the floating village, and a kayak to the mangroves giving us a wide variety of ways to observe our surroundings. The highlight for me was kayaking with Bunny and the local ranger along the lake and through the mangroves. Stories were told, wildlife was seen, and the residents all waved from their front porches. Tonle Sap tour. Beautiful long boat to a sweet floating house followed by kayaking! What a gorgeous day on the river leading to the lake! We loved this sweet floating house. Great kayaks. Our double kayak was clean and dry. They provided us with life jackets and hats. Our guide led us on a beautiful scenic journey towards the big lake.
